I was able to exchange my moldy lens for a clean one, and took it out this weekend to capture a few more Spring shots before all the pretty petals are literally blown away. This was the 200mm telephoto with manual focus and aperture. This time however I tried letting the camera decide on the shutter speed by using the "aperture priority" mode. Most shots came out swell, but a few of the full sun shots on white subjects (swans, white flowers, etc.) were funky, like the camera chose a weird white balance setting or over exposed. In the future I'll probably stick to the all manual mode unless the subject is in motion. You can click on the below image to see the set, that is if you not sick of spring blooms yet 8-)

Appears as if you are about a week ahead of us with the spring bloom. Just now getting redbud and fruit tree blooms. Haven't seen a tulip yet. Glad to hear you got an exchange for your faulty lens. Looks like you're putting it to good use. Nice set on flikr.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve-O. Dogwoods just popped this weekend, so we are full on Spring now. Next will be the pine trees, which will cover the roads, car windshields, and decks with wind driven tides of yellow dusty pollen. Get that hanky ready!
