Itty Bitty Critters, Great Big Eyes

One of various types of jumping spiders residing at the ranch. I rigged a shooting jar out of an old parmesan cheese container half stuffed with green tissue. The jar is just larger than my macro-tube/lens setup and I've attached the two with the top of a sock. Camera w/lens is attached to tripod and the jar is moved to facilitate focus and framing. All shot with Canon EOS Xs with 55mm Minolta lens on extension tubes; f4.0 at various shutter speeds with remote shutter release.

  1. Awesome focus and lighting! Aliens in the back yard! This one has got to be printed, and hung, hmmmm, where or where to hang ole four eyes?

Thanks for providing the set-up, great creativity using tids and bits to pull this off. If you end up using this rig again, could you take a picture of it and post it. Thanks!
