Canyonlands 2009

Thanks for inviting ma & Pa to your photography blog! We have travelled a lot during the past few years and have accumulated quite a few photos and movies. This seems like a great site to share some of them. This was taken in August of last year. It was hot as a furnace at Canyonlands NP. But it was silent and majestic. I took this shot with our lowly Canon Powershot A80 with autofocus of course. But I'm proud of this photo because I had to creep up to the edge of a sheer drop off underneath this arch to take the picture. It was awesome!!

  1. Whew, looks like a real scorcher. But what an awesome shot, and well worth the "creeping" required.

  2. Spectacular Shot! I love the perspective as well as the colors - it really makes me feel like I saw those red-hot badlands myself.

  3. Nice view to have stowed away in the back of your brain, especially having made the effort to get "The Shot".
