Forbidden City & Summer Palace

Beijing's Forbidden City is right across from Tiananmen square and Summer Palace is only a sardine packed subway ride from downtown and both were well worth the effort. These sights, while have been neglected until only recently, still give a real feel of historic and imperialistic China during the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644).

  1. Would really have liked the last image to come out without the heavy lighting wash. Does anybody have any suggestions in the future? Thanks!

  2. Great photos Jade. If your camera has backlight compensation employ that when background has bright sky or reflection. That will sometimes wash out the background somewhat but also allows for greater detail to emerge in foreground.
